How to use Vidoby
From an idea to a finished, captioned short in about ten minutes. Eight steps, in the Studio's own words.
- 1
Set up your projectonce, 3 minutes
In the Studio, open Project and press New project. Give it a name, your niche and a tone. Pick a Compliance profile if your industry has rules (for example real estate or finance).
Then open Project settings and fill in:
- What your product does: the facts a script may use. Scripts never invent features, so the more you write here, the better they get.
- Product link: the only web address the presenter will say.
- Ad disclaimer and QR code image (optional): shown on every frame, e.g. a registration number.
- How the voice says names (optional): teach the AI voice a brand name, e.g. “Acme = Ack-mee”. Captions keep the real spelling.
- 2
Choose where the script comes from
- Start with an idea: describe the video and let AI writes it (pick a Hook framework and a Target length of about 15, 30 or 45 seconds), or choose I have a script and it is spoken word for word.
- Paste link: a Reel, TikTok or Short that works in your niche. Vidoby studies its hook and writes a fresh one for your product.
- Upload file: the same, from a video on your computer.
Tip: Short scripts win on social: 15 to 25 seconds is the sweet spot.
- 3
Pick your presenter
Under Avatar persona, first choose the quality:
- Standard: a talking presenter, lip-synced to your script, with an optional short Walking intro.
- Premium ⭐: one continuous shot with no cuts. The presenter can walk the whole way, up to 30 seconds, with any face.
Then who presents:
- Brand face: the same person in every video.
- New AI avatar: set gender, age and look, and under Style the outfit (saree, suits, sherwani and more), hair, accessories and what they are Carrying.
- Your image: a photo of a person you have the rights to use.
Under Setting, upload a Property photo to put your own building or shop behind the presenter, or pick a scene. Presenter motion chooses between talking to camera and walking.
- 4
Add your product demo (optional)
Under Product demo, add up to 3 screen recordings, clips or photos (a property's rooms, your app, your menu). They play in order after the presenter's hook, with an optional Slow zoom on the demo.
Tip: A short hook followed by your demo keeps the presenter part short, and the price low.
- 5
Set the output
- Aspect ratio: 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok; 4:5 and 1:1 for feeds.
- Language: 28 languages, including Hindi, Hinglish and other Indian languages. The script is written natively, not translated word for word.
- Voiceover: turn on the AI voice and pick one.
- A/B variations: 1 to 4 versions with the same script, to test what performs.
- Captions: word by word, headlines, or off.
- 6
Check the estimate and generate
The summary on the right lists the price line by line, for example the presenter, a walking intro and the number of variations, with the total in credits. Press Generate. The final charge uses the real length of the voice, and any difference is refunded. If a video fails, its credits come back automatically.
- 7
Approve the script
Your video pauses at Waiting for your approval. Read the script, edit any line, press Regenerate for a new take, or Co-write the script by chatting with the AI. When it reads right, press Approve and continue. Most videos are ready in 5 to 10 minutes; Premium takes about 10 to 12.
- 8
Review, edit, download and post
Watch the finished video, then Download it. Every video stays in your Library. Not quite right? Use Fix captions (15 credits), Change voice, New avatar or Rewrite script instead of starting over.
When you post, label the video as AI-generated on the platform, as its rules require.
Credits and top-ups
Every plan includes monthly credits. A plain video is about 60 credits; a lip-synced video is priced by how long the presenter talks: 120 up to 8s · 180 up to 15s · 240 up to 22s credits. Premium ⭐ is 400 up to 15s · 600 up to 30s credits. Failed videos are never charged.
Need more? Open Billing and buy a top-up: 1,000 credits for $25, one-time, on any plan. That is ~16 plain videos, ~8 short lip-synced videos (~4 long), or 1–2 Premium ⭐ videos.
Tips for great videos
- Fill in “What your product does” - it is the single biggest lever on script quality.
- Lead with the hook: one sharp sentence the viewer cannot scroll past.
- Use a Brand face so viewers recognise your presenter from video to video.
- For property and local businesses, upload a real photo of the place as the backdrop.
- Make 2 variations of your best idea and keep the one that performs.
